Census of Marine Life Portal Ett 10-årigt projekt har påbörjats för att kartlägga marint liv. Forskare från 45 länder samarbetar om kartläggningen för att få svar på frågor som: vad lever i haven och vad kommer att leva i våra hav i framtiden. man hoppas också hitta nya arter och utforska livsbetingelser för livet i haven.

Vascoda- Entdecke Information - Discover Information En ny portal till vetenskaplig information från Tyskland. Ett samarbete mellan många olika intressenter, främst bibliotek och andra informationsförmedlare. Vascoda ger tillgång till innehållet i flera virtuella bibliotek men också till den s.k. "osynliga webben", genom att integrera bibliotekskataloger, databaser och annan bibliografisk information. Vascoda sponsras av Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung och Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. Vascoda kan ses som början till "German Virtual Library"

PLoS Biology Första numret av den nya open access tidskriften PLoS Biology finns nu online. Tidskriften är peer-reviewed och har professionella redaktörer från den vetenskapliga världen. " PLoS Biology features works of exceptional significance in all areas of biological science, from molecules to ecosystems, including works at the interface with other disciplines."
