"Pilot launches a typical Google search but filters the result set to the scholarly research content from participating publishers, with the intent of reducing the noise produced by general web searches.

Google has indexed the full text of scholarly journal articles on the publishers' websites through a CrossRef gateway. Users may submit searches from CrossRef Search Pilot boxes on participating publishers' sites. Results are returned from Google using the Google search and ranking algorithms, and using the article's DOI whenever possible to link from the search results to the published article."

Nytt från NLM om alertservicen Cubby :"Several new features, including automatic e-mailing of stored search results, will soon be added to PubMed's Cubby. In order to continue to provide an efficient NCBI Cubby service, inactive Cubby accounts will not be transitioned to the new system. Cubby accounts that have not been used (logged into) for the past nine months will be canceled in April when the new Cubby system is expected to be installed. There will be a limited period after April during which canceled accounts can be re-activated by NCBI"

"7 Reasons to Use A9.com".

Life in icy waters "At the bottom of the globe, darkness permeates the harsh landscape for months at a time. Just a glimpse of this quiet desolation makes one wonder what could possibly survive there...? But as summer slowly approaches and the sun brings light and warmth to the sea around Antarctica, the vast expanse of winter ice that blanketed the sea slowly weakens. Long, ragged cracks wind their way through the ice, revealing areas of open water."
