CSA - Discovery Guides

CSA - Discovery Guides CSA har utvecklat guider inom en mängd olika ämnen. De ger inblick och kunskap i olika områden och ämnen. Guderna leder också vidare till CSA's produkter, dvs. databaser & artiklar. (Bra för oss som har tillgång till dessa). Inom området "Natural Sciences"- som i sin tur har underavdelningar- kan du hitta t.ex. "Genetically Modified Foods: Harmful or Helpful?", "What Are Stem Cells?" m.m.

BioCase



BioCase, The Biological Collection Access Service for Europe, BioCASE, is a transnational network of biological collections of all kinds. BioCASE enables widespread unified access to distributed and heterogeneous European collection and observational databases using open-source, system-independent software and open data standards and protocols.

Fauna Europaea

Fauna Europaea -The scientific names of all European land and freshwater animals brought together in one authorative database.
"The Fauna Europaea project (EVR1-1999-20001) has been funded by the European Commission for a period of four years (1 March 2000 - 1 March 2004) within the Fifth Framework Programme (5FP). Fauna Europaea has assembled a database of the scientific names and distribution of all living multicellular European land and fresh-water animals.
Experts in taxonomy have provided data of all species currently known in Europe. Together these data have formed a huge database, which will be accessible to everyone. The University of Amsterdam has coordinated the project, assisted by the University of Copenhagen and the National Museum of Natural History in Paris.The Fauna Europaea database will provide a unique reference for many groups such as scientists, governments, industries, conservation communities and educational programs."

I senaste nr av "Science" en artikel som visar att "People in the United States are much less likely to accept Darwin's idea that humans evolved from apes than adults in other Western nations, a number of surveys show. " Det förstod vi väl också...? Med tanke på den de livliga debatt som pågår overthere on creationism kontra evolution.

FeedNavigator - RSS2 Feeds - Full Text Health Articles

Vår lilla blogg är nu tillbaka efter semestern...
Vi börjar med en mycket bra ny service som utvecklats vid Helsingfors' universitets National Library of Health Sciences - Terkko : FeedNavigator . Här kan man samla, göra personliga urval och spara artiklar i ett eget "My feeds" Man kan också exportera citeringar till RefWorks.
