SpringerLink - E-books. Testperiod. Nu finns möjlighet att testa ytterligare två årgångar av e-böcker från Springer. Biblioteket har redan tillgång till åren 2005-2008 och testperioden ger tillgång till även åren 2009-2010. E-böcker utgivna på andra språk än engelska ingår inte i testet.

Nu är det dags för den årliga "World e-Book Fair" 4 juli-4 augusti. Här kan du ladda ner nästan 2 millioner e-böcker...

CourseSmart . Plattform där man kan köpa tillgång till kursböcker online. I samarbete med förlagen Bedford, Freeman & Worth Publishing Group Cengage Learning Houghton Mifflin John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Jones and Bartlett Publishers McGraw-Hill Education och Pearson har denna plattform för köp/distribution skapats. Priserna verkar vara under priset för en tryckt bok. T.ex. kostar tillgång till onlineversionen av Campbell's Biology 8th ed. under 1 år 86.50 USD. Andra alternativ är att ladda ner hela böcker, eller att köpa kortare onlinetillgång. Lärare kan få tillgång till onlineversioner för påseende.
Och: vad kan detta betyda för biblioteken....?

Biodiversity Heritage Library

Ett verkligt "fynd": Biodiversity Heritage Library.-som jag antagligen nämnt förut, men som definitivt förtjänar att nämnas igen: "Ten major natural history museum libraries, botanical libraries, and research institutions have joined to form the Biodiversity Heritage Library Project. The group is developing a strategy and operational plan to digitize the published literature of biodiversity held in their respective collections. This literature will be available through a global “biodiversity commons"
