OReFiL: an Online Resource Finder for Lifesciences


En sökbar databas: OReFiL: an Online Resource Finder for Lifesciences. "OReFiL stands for Online Resource Finder for Lifescience. It facilitates a search for online resources that are introduced in peer-reviewed papers. You can search by MeSH terms or author names in addition to free words. OReFiL extracts all URLs from MEDLINE abstracts and PubMed-indexed BioMed Central full-papers (implementation or availability sections), and indexes them with MeSH terms and author names."

ticTOCs


En bra och nyttig tjänst skapad i England som ett samarbete mellan flera universitet och andra aktörer: ticTOCs Prototype. Welcome to ticTOCs - where researchers keep up-to-date "The ticTOCs Project is piloting a free service where researchers, academics and anyone else can keep up-to-date with scholarly journal Tables of Contents (TOCs). This is the beta version. Further features and enhancements will appear in the near future.
You can start by searching for TOCs, or by browsing TOCs by publisher. Then, if you click on a journal title, the latest Table of Contents will be displayed."

Open Science Directory





En mycket intressant söktjänst (m.m.) utvecklad av EBSCO och Hasselt University Library : Open Science Directory.
Målet är att skapa ett sökverktyg för alla OA tidskrifter (eller de som ingår i speciella proghram för t.ex. utvecklingsländer) och förenkla åtkomsten genom direkt tillgång till tidskriften ..."All information about the included journal collections is available at the websites of the included projects. These websites are directly accessible from the Open Science Directory.
The Open Science Directory will not replace these programs. Also the different programs have their own regulations and eligibility conditions. As a interested user, you or your institute will have to register on their sites if you want to make use of special programs like HINARI, AGORA, INASP-PERI, OARE, eIFL and eJDS. " Mer: "About 13000 scientific journals are now available in the ‘Open Science Directory’. When all the special program journals will be included, the Open Science Directory will contain more than 20000 titles.
Open Science Directory contains collections of Open Access Journals (full – partly) and journals in the special programs (Hinari, Agora). Other programs will be added in the near future: OARE, INASP-PERI, eIFL, eJDS.

Bioscience Horizons


En ny "free online" tidskrift från Oxford Journals: Bioscience Horizons ...publishing the best undergraduate bioscience research from the UK and Republic of Ireland. The journal provides a forum for students, their supervisors and universities, to showcase high quality undergraduate research work, strengthening the link between teaching and research in higher education. All papers are written by students and based on final year research projects.

Nature introducerar Nature Network, en ny gratis "networking site" för forskare runt om i världen.
"This Web 2.0 toolkit has a variety of features: It will help scientists connect with like-minded researchers, conduct online discussions, showcase their work via personal home pages, share information with groups (open or private), and tag content. Participation is free, but users are required to register"

Nature China






Nature China en ny portal till de "bästa" artiklarna från Kina skapad av utgivarna av tidskriften Nature. "Nature China is dedicated to highlighting the best research from mainland China and Hong Kong providing scientists from around the world with a convenient portal into research drawn from across the scientific and medical literature in all disciplines. The website is currently in beta form as an archive is built extending back over the past six years to provide short summaries of some of the best research articles published from China in Nature journals and other leading scientific publications since 2000. In the case of Nature journals, access to the original full text articles is also provided. Once the archive is complete in April, each week thereafter, our editors will select the best research recently published and provide a summary of the results. Users can also recommend papers to be included in Nature China and vote/comment on those suggestions. The best of these, chosen by you, will be included within the Nature China archive."
